Sea State Model Forecast Time Range Extended from Four to Six Days
To assist personnel engaged in maritime operations and activities in the South China Sea and the western North Pacific in keeping track of potential changes in sea state, the Observatory has extended the sea condition model forecast on the “Earth Weather” and “Meteorological Information for Fishermen” webpages from four to six days. Observatory Adds Satellite Imagery for Monitoring Volcanic Activity
In June 2026, the Observatory added new satellite imagery for monitoring volcanic activity, releasing “Sulfur Dioxide” satellite imagery based on the Japan Meteorological Agency's “Himawari” geostationary satellite. (More……)
