Measured and forecast water level data for Po Toi have been added to the “Coastal Sea Level (Trial)” webpage, to enhance tidal information services.
Following the destruction of the Waglan Island tide station and related facilities during the impact of Super Typhoon Ragasa in September 2025, the Observatory installed a temporary tide gauge at Po Toi Public Pier in March 2026, to strengthen sea level monitoring at the southeastern tip of Hong Kong, providing real-time water levels and total water level forecasts for the next 12 hours.
Clicking on the Po Toi tide station (indicated by a blue box) on the GIS map of the “Coastal Sea Level (Trial)” webpage displays the water level data for the station.
