The Observatory’s “Working Together for a Better Climate” Open Day
The Observatory’s “Working Together for a Better Climate” Open Day attracted an overwhelming public response, with close to 10,000 visitors attending the two-day event. The Observatory also launched an Online Open Day webpage, where the public can enjoy virtual tours of the Observatory’s headquarters. (More……)

The Hong Kong Observatory and Fiji Meteorological Service sign MOU to strengthen meteorological collaboration
On 3 December 2024, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Fiji Meteorological Service signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation at the Observatory’s Headquarters, to enhance collaboration and exchanges in aeronautical meteorological science and technologies, and thus contribute to the regional and global development of weather services in support of international civil air navigation. The Observatory participates in United Nations Climate Change Conference
As members of the Chinese delegation, Hong Kong Observatory colleagues attended the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in November 2024 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to exchange views on issues such as strengthening international cooperation in response to extreme weather and the United Nation’s “Early Warning for All” initiative. Trial Version of the Greater Bay Area Weather Information Service added to MyObservatory
To assist citizens travelling around the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Observatory launched a new version of the “MyObservatory” app. Besides local weather information, GBA weather information was also added, enabling users to easily check real-time weather observations, warnings in force and forecast information of more than 50 districts in the other 10 cities within the GBA on “MyObservatory”.
