Online Training Workshop for Enhancing Regional Aviation Weather Services

The Observatory held an online SIGMET Coordination Training Workshop on 15 and 16 June 2022. The workshop was attended by almost 100 participants from 20 States/Administrations in the region.
Experts from Meteorological Watch Offices in the Asia Pacific Region and representatives of the International Civil Aviation Organisation were invited to share information and experience on weather conditions that can pose hazards for aviation, and issuance of SIGMET – Significant Meteorological Information. Training on the Regional SIGMET Coordination Platform was also conducted. Afterwards, participants indicated that the workshop would improve their job performance and efficiency.
