2023 Joint Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Meeting on Cooperation in Meteorological Operations and Seminar Held in Hong Kong
The first in-person Joint Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Meeting on Cooperation in Meteorological Operations since 2019 was held in Hong Kong from 20 to 22 February 2023. Participants discussed how to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as meteorological data exchanges, meteorological scientific research and innovation, as well as training meteorological personnel. The meeting included a technical seminar, during which various experts presented a total of 22 papers. (More……)
Observatory Participates in “Checkerboard III” Interdepartmental Exercise Based on the Contingency Plan for Daya Bay
Observatory staff actively participated in the “Checkerboard III” exercise, based on the contingency plan for Daya Bay – utilising professional knowledge, advanced radiation monitoring instruments, and a system for assessing the consequences in the event of a nuclear accident, to support government frontline departments in carrying out emergency actions related to the exercise. They also participated in a mock press conference with representatives of other departments, as if updating the public regarding a nuclear accident. (More……)
“Gamma-Go” Teacher Workshops
