Delegations from Malaysian Meteorological Department and Civil Aviation Authority of the Sultanate of Oman visit HKO for training

Six personnel from the Malaysian Meteorological Department and seven personnel from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Sultanate of Oman visited the Observatory from 13 to 17 October 2025, to participate in aviation meteorology training. The training content covered probabilistic forecasting, nowcasting, applications of artificial intelligence, and other areas. The delegations also had an attachment at the Airport Meteorological Office and visited the headquarters of the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department to understand how the Observatory provides the meteorological services required by the Civil Aviation Department to support air traffic management. At the end of the training, all parties also explored the possibility of strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the future.
