Hong Kong Observatory hosts the 8th Annual meeting of the Typhoon Committee Working Group on Meteorology

The Hong Kong Observatory hosted the 8th meeting of the Typhoon Committee Working Group on Meteorology on 21 and 22 October 2025. This was the first time the Observatory hosted this meeting.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format, of in-person and video conferencing. Representatives from 12 of the 14 members of the Typhoon Committee attended and submitted reports on their work in 2025. Participating experts also conducted technical exchanges on the latest developments in tropical cyclone monitoring and forecasting, and discussed future cooperative projects for the working group concerning operations and research.
