David Hui Tai-wai

Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao take turns hosting the Seminar on Earthquake Science and Technology every two years. On 13 and 14 November 2025, the Observatory hosted the 10th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Seminar on Earthquake Science and Technology. About 40 experts from 10 organisations participated in the seminar, with contents spanning 20 technical reports – including the structure and seismic hazards of the Littoral Fault Zone and the Slope Fault Zone and their associated potential tsunami risk, artificial intelligence applications, high-resolution seismicity, and 3D underground structure analyses.
