Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence Application in Weather Forecasting” jointly organised with the China Meteorological Administration

From 1 to 5 December 2025, the Hong Kong Observatory and the China Meteorological Administration held the first World Meteorological Organization Voluntary Cooperation Programme workshop at the World Meteorological Centre (Beijing) Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Branch in Guangzhou. The workshop, with the theme “Artificial Intelligence Application in Weather Forecasting”, brought together about 70 online and in-person participants from over 30 countries and regions. Participants praised the workshop, saying the training would help them further apply artificial intelligence technology in weather forecasting.
