Hong Kong Observatory participates in Extraordinary Session of the World Meteorological Congress

Ms Sandy Song Man-kuen, Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, and Dr Tam Hiu-ching, Scientific Officer attended the Extraordinary Session of the World Meteorological Congress held by the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, from 20 to 23 October 2025. The session focused on discussing the technical regulations related to the “Early Warnings for All” initiative launched by the United Nations in 2022, providing support for accelerating its implementation in order to cope with the increasingly frequent extreme weather and climate-related hazardous events caused by climate change.
