Exposure of Sha Tin Wind Station

The Sha Tin wind station is located inside the Sha Tin Racecourse near the Shing Mun River Channel (please see the map below for the location of the wind station).   While its northeast is the unobstructed waters of Tolo harbour, there are mountain ranges and high-rise buildings to its northwest and southeast.  The station is more exposed to winds from the northeast and southwest sectors, as revealed in the annual wind rose for the station.
