The fourteenth issue of Online Quiz Games - Aviation Meteorology
21 September 2015
Under the framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Hong Kong Observatory is the designated meteorological authority in Hong Kong to provide weather services for international air navigation. The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Mr CM Shun, is the incumbent President of the Commission for Aeronautical Meteorology of the World Meteorological Organization, leading the Commission to further the development of aviation weather services in the face of the challenges of globalization and regionalization.
The Observatory operates the Airport Meteorological Office with professional aviation meteorological personnel and advanced meteorological facilities at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), monitoring the changing weather round-the-clock at the airport and its neighbouring regions. The aviation forecaster keeps close communication with air traffic controller, providing forecast and warnings of hazardous weather which may affect aviation safety at HKIA and the Hong Kong Flight Information Region (HKFIR). Do you know how hazardous weather can affect landing or take-off of an aircraft? Please come and join this issue of quiz games now! This issue will end on 4 October.
If you answer all questions correctly from the 1st to the 14th issue of quiz games with the same registered email address, you will be notified by email to collect a souvenir at the Hong Kong Observatory Resource Centre after the completion of this issue.
