The weather in Hong Kong was warmer than usual during 2022. With an annual mean temperature of 23.9 degrees, it was the sixth warmest years since records began. July was the hottest month on record, with a monthly mean temperature of 30.3 degrees, 1.4 degrees above normal. From September to November, Hong Kong experienced the warmest autumn on record, with a mean temperature of 26.4 degrees. There were 52 Hot Nights and 52 Very Hot Days in the year, both ranking the second highest on record. Moreover, there were 15 days with daily maximum temperatures at the Observatory equal to or higher than 35.0 degrees in 2022, the highest such tally on record.
