The Observatory launched observations and forecasts at urban-scale meteorological monitoring stations

Wong Wai-kin

In May 2022, the Observatory enhanced the “Automatic Regional Weather Forecast in Hong Kong & Pearl River Delta Region” (ARWF) service. The enhanced ARWF uses meteorological observations from the Observatory’s microclimate stations in Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, and Sha Tin and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer’s multi-functional smart lampposts, to generate hourly forecasts of air temperature and relative humidity for the next three days.
