Update of Climate Projections for Hong Kong webpages

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the Working Group I contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report “Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis” in August 2021. This employs a new set of scenarios, taking into consideration different trends in greenhouse gas concentrations, to generate climate projections. The Observatory has utilised data provided in the report to update the Climate Projections for Hong Kong webpages. As atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases keep increasing, climate warming in Hong Kong will continue, with rainfall increasing and mean sea level rising.
