Award-Winning “MyObservatory” app Earns International Recognition

“MyObservatory”  won awards in the WMO International Weather Apps Awards presented by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and
the Asia Smart App Awards 2020 organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA)

“MyObservatory” won awards in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) International Weather Apps Awards presented by the WMO, and the Asia Smart App Awards 2020 organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA)

In 2020, the “MyObservatory” mobile app developed by the Hong Kong Observatory won awards in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) International Weather Apps Awards presented by the WMO, and the Asia Smart App Awards 2020 organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA).

In WMO International Weather Apps Awards, “MyObservatory” won in the “Public weather forecasts and information - information content” category and earned an honourable mention in the “Specialised apps award - weather warnings” category. It was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the Asia Smart App Awards 2020.

The awards aim to encourage the development of mobile apps by recognising apps that provide reliable weather and climate information or have made outstanding achievements in innovation.

“MyObservatory” continues being innovative with new functions. A chatbot was recently added, to provide interactive support to weather enquiries.
