Tailor-made Meteorological Products and Services for CAD Well-received in ICAO Meetings

Significant weather at aerodrome, terminal area, air routes, etc., can have great impact on aviation operation. The Observatory has developed a number of tailor made meteorological products and services for Civil Aviation Department (CAD) in the past few years to support Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) operation. These forecast products and the tailored weather briefing service to CAD won the Meritorious Award of the Specialised Service Award in the Civil Service Outstanding Award Scheme 2013. Furthermore, it was presented and well-received in recent international meetings and forums including the 2nd Meeting of ICAO Asia/Pacific Air Traffic Flow Management Steering Group (ATFM SG/2) held in early October 2013, the 3rd Meeting of ICAO Asia/Pacific Meteorological Requirements Task Force (MET/R TF/3) held in Bangkok in late November 2013.
