<<Weathering the Storm>> wins a Distinguished Publishing Award

The book Weathering the Storm: Hong Kong Observatory and Social Development has been awarded the "Distinguished Publishing Award" in the 16th Hong Kong Print Awards. It was a Hong Kong Observatory production in 2003 to celebrate the Observatory's 120th anniversary.

The five renowned academics and authors on the panel of judges of the award were impressed by the innovation and creativity in the production of the book. They considered that the winning attributes of the book were its stunning illustrations and its bilingual text.

The book was authored by Professor Ho Pui-yin of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and published by the Hong Kong University Press.

"Hong Kong Print Awards" was organized by Graphic Arts Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Publishing Professionals Society, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Leisure and Cultural Services Department and was co-organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council. The aim is to encourage the production of superior printing products, with the integration of design, publishing, art and technology.
