More Observatory’s datasets released on Government Public Sector Information (PSI) Portal and Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) portal (2023)

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has been releasing weather data in machine-readable format on its website since 2012.  The data are also available on the PSI Portal (DATA.GOV.HK) and CSDI Portal (PORTAL.CSDI.GOV.HK).  With a view to opening up more data for free use by the public, HKO released 4 new datasets today (30 May 2023):

• Daily mean amount of cloud (PSI/CSDI)

• Daily mean pressure (PSI/CSDI)

• Daily total evaporation (PSI/CSDI)

• Rainfall in the past hour from automatic weather station (PSI/CSDI)

All datasets can also be found in the HKO website.   Open data Application Programming Interfaces and the related documentation are also published to facilitate retrieval of the required data.
