  • Friday, 12th July 2019

The Drainage Services Department and the Observatory jointly developed the first penstock control system in Hong Kong that considers weather forecasting, real-time rainfall and tide levels. The system helps improve the environment of the wetland near Wai Ha River in Shuen Wan, while meeting the flood control requirements.

In the latest episode of "Cool Met Stuff", Mr Woo Wang-chun, Scientific Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory and Mr MAK Shiu-wai, Engineer of the Drainage Services Department will tell you about the system.

The video is now available on the "MyObservatory" mobile application and the Observatory's website for your viewing (programme is broadcasted in Cantonese).
