South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Gale force winds in Nan'ao, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and
Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 5 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi with maximum
sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its
centre was located at 10.8 degrees north, 129.4 degrees
east. It is forecast to move west at about 25 kilometres per
hour towards the seas east of the Philippines and intensify
gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 6 to 7.
A few light rain patches.
Rough seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East to northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8.
Rough to very rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 6 to 7, becoming up to force 8.
Isolated showers and squally thunderstorms.
Rough seas, becoming very rough.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to northeasterly winds of force 6 to 7. Scattered
showers and squally thunderstorms.
