South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 5 a.m., the tropical depression over the central part of
the South China Sea with maximum sustained winds of about 55
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 15.5
degrees north, 113.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the
central part of the South China Sea.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6.
A few showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:
East to northeast force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6, force
7 later.
Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to southeasterly winds of force 6 to 7. Frequent heavy
squally showers and thunderstorms.
