South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in Nan'ao and Shanwei.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the coastal waters of
Guangdong.

Tropical Storm Krathon has weakened into a tropical
depression.

At 3 a.m., Krathon with maximum sustained winds of about 55
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 22.8
degrees north, 120.6 degrees east. It is forecast to be
slow-moving, lingering over the southern part of Taiwan and
dissipating gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
North to northeast force 4 to 5.
Isolated showers.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao:
North to northeast force 6 to 7.
Isolated showers and squally thunderstorms.
Rough seas.

Shanwei:
Northeast force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
Northeast force 4 to 5.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Northeasterly winds of force 4 to 5, up to force 6 in east
at first. Isolated showers and squally thunderstorms.
