9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: A trough of low pressure will linger over the coast of southern China to the northern part of the South China Sea today and tomorrow. There will be heavy showers and squally thunderstorms over the region. With the trough of low pressure departing from the coast of Guangdong and the subtropical ridge covering southern China, showers will ease off gradually and the weather will become very hot over Guangdong early to midweek next week. A broad trough of low pressure is expected to bring unsettled weather to the central and northern parts of the South China Sea in the latter part of next week. Besides, Tropical Cyclone Mekkhala will move across the seas south of Japan today and tomorrow, and transform into an extratropical cyclone gradually.
