Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong. At 5 a.m., the tropical depression over Beibu Wan was centred about 170 kilometres west of Haikou. It is forecast to move north slowly, lingering over Beibu Wan. Weather forecast for today Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavier in some areas at first. The maximum temperature will around 30 degrees during the day. Moderate south to southeasterly winds. Outlook : A few showers over the weekend, and hot during the day. More showers early next week.
