Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather is generally fine over Guangdong. At 8 a.m., Super Typhoon Mekkhala was centred about 840 kilometres south-southwest of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 10 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands. Weather forecast for today Mainly fine. Very hot during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate southwesterly winds. Outlook : Persistently very hot in the next couple of days. A few showers in the latter part of this week.
