Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

Winds are weak over the coast of Guangdong. Besides, an area
of low pressure is bringing unsettled weather to the central
and southern parts of the South China Sea, and is moving
slowly in a general northward direction.

At 5 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Jangmi was centred about
520 kilometres east-northeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast
to move east-northeast at about 40 kilometres per hour
skirting the southern part of Honshu of Japan.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with isolated showers. Very hot with sunny
periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be
around 34 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of
degrees higher in the New Territories. Light to moderate
south to southwesterly winds.

Outlook : Extremely hot in some areas tomorrow and on
Friday, the maximum temperature can reach 35 degrees or
above. Still very hot with a few showers and thunderstorms
on Saturday. Showers will increase gradually in the
following couple of days.
