By the Hong Kong Observatory at 9:00 a.m. on 27 Jul 2024 Warnings: Severe squally thunderstorms in Hong Kong adjacent waters. Strong winds in Nan'ao, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao. Weather Situation: The southwest monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters. Meanwhile, severe squally thunderstorms are affecting the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. At 8 a.m., Tropical Storm Gaemi with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 29.5 degrees north, 116.1 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest or north-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour across Jiangxi and weaken further.
