South China Coastal Waters

Weather Situation:
A southerly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 5 a.m., the tropical depression over the seas east of the
Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 15.2
degrees north, 129.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour in the
general direction of the vicinity of Luzon Strait.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
South force 4.
A few showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
South to southwest force 4.
Moderate seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
South force 4, occasionally force 5.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Southerly winds of force 4 to 5, becoming west to
northwesterly winds up to force 7 later, cyclonic winds up
to force 12 in east. Frequent heavy squally showers and
thunderstorms.
