9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: The subtropical ridge will cover southern China and bring generally fine and very hot weather to the region today and tomorrow. The tropical cyclone over the seas east of the Philippines will enter the northeastern part of the South China Sea in the latter part of this week and intensify progressively, with a higher chance of moving towards the vicinity of the coast of eastern Guangdong over the weekend. However, there are still uncertainties in its landfall position and its distance from Hong Kong. Under its influence, it will be windy with heavy squally showers and thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong later on Saturday to Sunday. There will be swells. A broad trough of low pressure will affect the northern part of the South China Sea early to midweek next week. The weather will remain unsettled over the coast of Guangdong.
