“Flying saucers” appeared in the sky over Lantau Island

“Flying saucers” appeared in the sky over Lantau Island (29th April 2021)

On the morning of 29 April 2021, the camera of Tai Mo Shan captured lenticular clouds over Lantau Island. If we look at the animation sequence, the clouds look like flying saucers hovering in the sky. In the atmosphere of that day, there was a temperature inversion layer at an altitude of about 1000 to 1500 meters. The weather was relatively stable and favorable for the formation of lenticular clouds.
