A total eclipse of the moon will occur on Tuesday, 28 August 2007. Weather permitting, the event will be visible in Hong Kong.

The eclipse will occur from 3:52 p.m. to 9:23 p.m. The latter part of the eclipse can be observed in Hong Kong as the Moon will rise at 6:42 p.m. Please refer to the attached diagram for the path of the moon during the eclipse.

The best places to observe the event will be those with unobstructed view to the east-southeast such as Sai Kung, Shek O, etc.

The next lunar eclipse observable in Hong Kong will occur on 17 August 2008. It will be a partial eclipse.
