A total eclipse of the moon will occur on Sunday, 4 March 2007. Weather permitting, the event will be visible in Hong Kong.

The eclipse will occur from 4:16 am to 10:25 am. The former part of the eclipse can be observed in Hong Kong as the Moon will set at 6:46 am. Please refer to the attached diagram for the path of the moon during the eclipse.

The best places to observe the event will be those with unobstructed view to the west such as Tai O, Tuen Mun, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island.

The next lunar eclipse observable in Hong Kong will occur on 28 August 2007. It will be a total eclipse.
