HKO's network time service

The Hong Kong Observatory's network time service malfunctioned at 8 a.m. today (Friday, 31 December 2004). After examination and rectification, the network time service resumed normal operation at 10:20 a.m. on the same day.

Computer clocks which synchronized with the Observatory's network time service might show incorrect date and time during the period of the fault. Users whose applications require recording the accurate date and time should check the date and time recorded.

The Observatory apologizes for any inconvenience it might have caused to users.
