"Hong Kong Observatory Calendar 2005" is now on sale (3 December 2004)
The Hong Kong Observatory Calendar 2005, with the theme of "Air-Water-Life", is now available for sale to the public.
This theme echoes the "Weather, Climate, Water and Sustainable Development" theme of the World Meteorological Day on March 23, 2005, and highlights the importance of air and water in nurturing Life.
The calendar features beautiful photographs of birds in Hong Kong. Through these images of birds in the embrace of the nature, people are invited to feel the pleasure of leisure where life is subtly nurtured by air and water - the gist of the theme "Air-Water-Life" of the calendar.
The calendar also contains useful information such as rising/setting times of the sun and moon, tide and monthly climatological normals and extremes. Telephone numbers and websites for enquiries on weather and other geophysical information are also listed.
This beautifully printed and attractively presented calendar would be an excellent gift to friends and relatives for Christmas and the New Year. The calendar is now on sale at $35 a copy at the Hong Kong Observatory Resource Centre and the Kowloon Map Publications Centre of the Lands Department.
