Cold Weather On Its Way (7 Dec 2002)

The cold front over Guangdong is moving southwards gradually. The mass of cold air north of Guangdong will bring cold weather to southern China in the next few days.

Winds in Hong Kong will strengthen from the north overnight (7 December, Saturday). It will become cooler with rain. Temperatures will fall progressively tomorrow (8 December, Sunday) and it will be cold in the mornings of Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures falling to around 12 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories.

The Hong Kong Observatory reminds the public to take note of the weather changes and to prepare for the cold weather, such as making ready warm clothing, checking heating devices and to take steps to protect themselves against cold weather.
