The Hong Kong Observatory Virtual Exhibition Hall

The Hong Kong Observatory Virtual Exhibition Hall (8 February 2002)

The Hong Kong Observatory Virtual Exhibition Hall was launched today (8 February 2002).

In line with the Government's initiative on "Electronic Service Delivery Scheme", the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) established the HKO Virtual Exhibition Hall on its web-site using the latest information technology. Contents of the HKO Exhibition Hall at its headquarters are now accessible via the internet. The public can view via the internet the exhibition on meteorology, geophysics, and environmental radiation as well as the wide range of services provided by the HKO without travelling to HKO headquarters.

The web page provides a panoramic view of the Exhibition Hall and enables visitors to have a "first-person" feel while browsing through the exhibits. A number of interactive games and demonstrations are also available to explain the content of the exhibits, thus making them more lively and interesting. These features will also facilitate understanding of the underlying concepts.

The HKO Virtual Exhibition Hall will be updated regularly to meet the aspirations of the public.

Members of the public may access the HKO Virtual Exhibition Hall through HKO's home page at:
