A Mild and Humid Lunar New Year

A Mild and Humid Lunar New Year (22 January 2001)

Lunar New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and the day after are expected to be mild and humid. However, a surge of the winter monsoon will bring cooler weather and some rain in the latter part of the holiday period.

The highest maximum temperature ever recorded at the Hong Kong Observatory on the Lunar New Year's Day was 24.6 degrees in 1982. The lowest temperature of 5.8 degrees was registered in 1950.
