Radiation Monitoring of Rain and Air

Following the heavy rain and thunderstorms that generally affected Hong Kong after noon time on 17 April 2011 (Sunday), the Observatory carried out radiation measurement of the rain sample collected at King's Park during the period from noon that day to noon time the following day. The results showed that no artificial radionuclides were detected in the rain sample.

For air monitoring, no artificial radionuclides were detected in the air samples collected from King's Park and Yuen Ng Fan over the past few days. The latest measurement results of the air samples can be found in the Observatory's "Radiation Monitoring Special Webpage for Nuclear Accident":
