New feature on lightning location information webpage

The Observatory has launched a new version of the lightning location information webpage today (26 February). User can choose to display lightning locations over a detailed map, an aerial imagery or a terrain map. The new version can help members of the public identify more easily the location of lightning strokes. Please try it out and provide your valuable feedback to us.

The popular location-specific lightning alert webpage launched in May 2008 will continue to operate. The Observatory has recently added a user guide to the webpage. Enriched with diagrams and simple procedures, this guide will walk the unfamiliar user through the use of webpage.
