The Observatory enhances the "Automatic Regional Weather Forecast in Hong Kong"

The Hong Kong Observatory launched an updated webpage of “Automatic Regional Weather Forecast in Hong Kong” today (18 December). The forecast period was extended from 7 days to 9 days to enable the public to get hold of changes in regional weather earlier. The webpage also includes a text-only version and is cross-linked to the “Regional Weather in Hong Kong” to ease checking of actual regional weather.

The “Automatic Regional Weather Forecast in Hong Kong” provides hourly forecasts of air temperature, relative humidity, wind direction and wind speed at various locations in Hong Kong. The regional distribution of the weather elements was visualized using the geographic information system. By selecting a location, user can view the time series of weather elements at hourly intervals, along with the chance of rainfall over Hong Kong for each day.
