The Observatory Enhances Information Delivery on Weibo and Twitter

Starting from today (28 April 2011), the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) posts forecasts and reports of intense gust associated with thunderstorms on Weibo and Twitter websites. In addition, upon reception of reports of hail, waterspout and tornado, HKO will also disseminate the relevant information through these two websites.

HKO currently delivers the latest news and real-time weather warnings via the two websites. These include Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals, Rainstorm Warning Signals, Thunderstorm Warning, Landslip Warning, Special Announcement on Flooding in the northern New Territories, Very Hot Weather Warning, Cold Weather Warning, Strong Monsoon Signal, Fire Danger Warnings, Frost Warning and news about storm surge and tsunami.

By following the HKO's official accounts on Weibo and Twitter, you will be kept posted of the latest weather warnings as well as weather news.
