The Observatory's Weibo service is very well received

The Weibo service launched by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) on 23 March 2011 is getting very popular. The total number of followers in the Chinese and English versions has already exceeded 20,000 in just a few days.
HKO delivers latest news and real-time weather warnings on the social networking Weibo website. These include tropical cyclone warning, rainstorm warning, thunderstorm warning, landslip warning, special announcement on flooding in northern New Territories, very hot weather warning, cold weather warning, strong monsoon signal, fire danger warning, frost warning and news about storm surge and tsunami.
On following "HongKongObservatory", HKO's official weather accounts on Weibo, you will be kept posted with the latest weather warnings as well as weather news.
