"Cool Met Stuff" : Special Series for Hato - High Winds = Heavy Rain?

24 November 2017

Is it true that high winds associated with typhoons will always accompany with heavy rain? Daily rainfall of 67.1 millimeters was recorded at the Hong Kong Observatory during the passage of Super Typhoon Hato in August 2017. How does this rainfall compare with those recorded during previous typhoon cases bringing Hurricane Signal No. 10 to Hong Kong? A new episode of the special series of "Cool Met Stuff" video on Hato produced by the Observatory will answer those questions.

The video is now available at the "Cool Met Stuff" channel on the Observatory webpage and "MyObservatory" mobile application (programme is broadcasted in Cantonese).
