Global warming has led to melting of polar glaciers and serious environmental impacts to our earth. It is important for us to combat climate change and mitigate its impacts. With an aim to enhancing public awareness on climate change, the Environmental Campaign Committee, the Polar Museum Foundation, the Environmental Protection Department, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Hong Kong Science Museum jointly organize the 'Global Warming and Climate Variation' Seminar Series. Riding on the success of the first six seminars, the seventh public seminar cum exhibitions will be held on 13 August 2011 (Saturday), at the Lecture Hall of Hong Kong Science Museum. Professor Ho Kin Chung, Dean of School of Science & Technology, The Open University of Hong Kong and Dr. Lee Lok Sze, Rebecca, Founder of Polar Museum Foundation, have been invited to share their knowledge and insights with the public in the seminar. Students who made polar expeditions have also been invited to the interactive session afterwards. The exhibition will showcase a large number of precious photos taken by Dr. Rebecca Lee during her polar expeditions to illustrate the close relationship between climate change and the Poles.
