The 3rd Public Seminar cum Exhibitions of Global Warming and Climate Variation Seminar Series
1 August 2010
Global warming has led to melting of polar glaciers and serious environmental impacts to our earth. It is important for us to combat climate change and mitigate its impacts. With an aim to enhancing public awareness on climate change, the Environmental Campaign Committee, the Polar Museum Foundation, the Environmental Protection Department, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Hong Kong Science Museum jointly organize the 'Global Warming and Climate Variation' Seminar Series. Riding on the success of the first two seminars, the third public seminar cum exhibitions will be held on 14 August 2010 (Saturday), at the Lecture Hall of Hong Kong Science Museum. Professor CHAN Lung Sang, Department of Earth Sciences of The University of Hong Kong, and Professor HO Kin Chung, Dean of School of Science & Technology of The Open University of Hong Kong, have been invited to share their knowledge and insights with the public in the seminar. Besides, the exhibition will showcase a large number of precious photos taken by Dr. Rebecca Lee, founder of the Polar Museum Foundation, during her polar expeditions to illustrate the close relationship between climate change and scientific expeditions at the Poles. |
