Compliment on the Observatory's work: Email from the public (25 August 2008)

Dear Observatory,

I just wanted to say that you did a great job on Typhoon Nuri. I was watching the developments via your website for at least 3 days and felt quite informed, from even before your raised signal 1.

My kids' schools were supposed to be in session last Friday & I applaud your decision (along with the Education Dept.) in cancelling all schools, even before the rain started. I was afraid that the signal would be raised after I had set them to go to school - but your department was pro-active in its decisions.

I know people are often quicker to complain than to say "well done", which is why I want to say well done to you all.
