- The GNPS is located at Da Peng, Daya Bay, about 45 km from the city centre of Shenzhen, and about 50 km from Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
- It is owned by the Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., Ltd. (GNPJVC) which is formed by Guangdong Nuclear Investment Co., Ltd. (75% shares) and Hong Kong Nuclear Investment Co. Ltd. (25% shares).
- The power station consists of two reactor units of French design Framatome 900 MWe class Pressurised Water Reactors.
- Unit 1 and Unit 2 began commercial operation in February and May 1994 respectively.
- The gross power output of each unit is 984 MWe.
- 70% of electricity generated is delivered to CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) of Hong Kong and the remaining to Guangdong.
- The power is delivered to CLP Power's electricity network through the 400 kV overhead lines connecting HKSAR and Shenzhen.
