Observatory launches Hong Kong Weather Information for Tourists website

The Hong Kong Observatory launches Hong Kong Weather Information for Tourists website (visithk.weather.gov.hk) today (December 23) to provide the public and tourists with the latest weather information and detailed weather forecasts for various tourist attractions in Hong Kong.

The website provides current weather conditions and forecasts of local tourist attractions including theme parks, shopping areas, beaches, country parks, temples, outlying islands etc, allowing users to easily obtain hourly temperature forecasts, 3-hourly weather icons, and daily chance of rain for the coming nine days.

The Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Mr Anthony Lau, welcomed the Observatory's initiative in launching the Hong Kong Weather Information for Tourists website, which provides comprehensive weather information services for visitors. "With the Observatory's new website, visitors can get hold of the latest weather conditions of various tourist attractions. The information will no doubt help them better plan their itineraries and enhance their travel experience in Hong Kong", he said.

The Executive Director of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Mr Joseph Tung, said, "The Observatory's new website provides the tourism community with detailed weather conditions and nine-day weather forecasts at major tourism sites in Hong Kong. The information can help travel agents and tour guides to better arrange the tour itineraries according to weather conditions."

The Hong Kong Weather Information for Tourists website layout features a user-friendly design, allowing users to access weather information of various tourist attractions easily. The website also adopts a responsive web design to provide better browsing experience for mobile users. In addition, the website provides links to the corresponding webpages of HKTB's website (DiscoverHongKong.com), enabling users to obtain more detailed information of various tourist attractions.
