Hong Kong Observatory Open Day this weekend

The 2014Hong Kong Observatory Open Day will be staged on 29 and 30 March (Saturday and Sunday).

This year, the open day is themed "Weather and Climate: Engaging the Youth". Visitors at the open day can watch the weather report on the spot hosted by the Observatory's scientific officers, participate in the game booths and eco-tours etc. The public will also has chances to take photographs with Dr Tin, the Observatory Mascot.

Members of the public are welcome to join the event to learn more about how the Observatory applies science and technology in serving the public. Details of the open day are as follows:

12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
10:00 am to 4:30 pm

To publicise and promote a set of special stamps with the theme "Weather Phenomena" issued by Hongkong Post for the first time, a sales booth will be set up by Hongkong Post during the open day for members of the public to purchase the stamp products. The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Mr Shun Chi-ming, and the Postmaster General, Mrs Jessie Ting, will also jointly host an autograph session during the open day.
