Moon watching tips for Mid-Autumn Festival 2013
5 September 2013
The Mid-Autumn Festival this year falls on 19 September (Thursday). Once again since 2004, the full moon (i.e. the moon at its roundest) will occur on the night (i.e. before midnight) of Mid-Autumn Festival, to be seen at 7:13pm that evening. To facilitate moon-watching by the public, the times of moonrise, transit and moonset during the Mid-Autumn Festival period are given below. During transit, the moon passes the local meridian due south and its elevation is the highest of the night.
