The Hong Kong Observatory Calendar 2011 is now on sale.
To help illuminate the 2011 World Meteorological Day the theme, "Climate for You", the calendar highlights the seasonal changes in Hong Kong.
The calendar's motif is summarised at the preface by the Director of the Observatory, Dr Lee Boon-ying, "In this calendar, an attempt is made to showcase the beauty of the seasons in Hong Kong through photographs contributed by members of the public and Observatory colleagues. It is high time for us to act and combat climate change for our benefit and that of our future generations."
The calendar contains useful climatological and astronomical information, including monthly details about the weather, the time of rising and setting of the sun and the moon, and tidal information. Hong Kong Observatory telephone numbers and websites for information about the weather and geophysics are also listed.
At $62 a copy, the calendar is an excellent Christmas or New Year gift for friends and relatives for. It is on sale at the Hong Kong Observatory Resource Centre, the Publications Sales Unit of the Information Services Department, the Kowloon Map Publications Centre of the Lands Department, the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tuen Mun Central Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office.
