These three officers were commended for their devotion and effort in organizing the anemometer design competition for primary and secondary school students. The success of the competition has enhanced the image of the Observatory. For Ms Chiu, she was also commended for her great commitment in restoring the wind information of Cheung Chau within a short period of time on the Observatory's website during the imminent approach of Typhoon Koppu in September 2009.

These three officers were commended for their devotion and effort in conducting a survey jointly with the Department of Health on awareness of UV radiation among primary school students. The Observatory's professional image in caring about community was greatly enhanced.

They closely monitored the progress of the project to ensure that it could be completed in time. They also tackled difficult problems with innovative solutions and successfully installed the equipment under harsh environment.

The officer was commended for his continuous outstanding performance. As a very experienced officer, he always made sound judgment in deciding the actions to be taken for the timely maintenance of the meteorological instruments at the airport, even under very urgent situations.
