Only one tropical cyclone, named Kong-rey, occurred over the western North Pacific in April 2007.

After forming over the western North Pacific at the end of last month, Kong-rey intensified into a tropical storm on 1 April and moved northwestwards. Kong-rey intensified into a severe tropical storm on 2 April and then intensified further into a typhoon on the next day. It turned to the north in early morning of 4 April. It then turned to the northeast and weakened into a severe tropical storm in that afternoon. Kong-rey weakened further into a tropical storm on 5 April and became an extra-tropical cyclone over the western North Pacific to the southeast of Japan in that afternoon.
